Lady Patriots sweep Brookstone in playoffs.

The Mount Pisgah varsity softball team advanced to the Elite Eight of the GHSA Championships on Wednesday with a double header sweep of Brookstone. The Lady Patriots took the first game 11-4 and won the second 5-2.

The No. 3 ranked team in Class A, Pisgah (21-9) now advances to Columbus where the final eight Class A Private school teams will battle it out in a double-elimination tournament to determine the state champion. The action begins on Thursday, Oct. 25, and runs thru Saturday, Oct. 27.

Brookstone scored two of their own in the bottom of the first and the score remained tied until the top of the sixth. Walters and Condon hit back-to-back solo home runs to put Pisgah in the lead for good. They would tack on a final run in the 7th to seal the win.

Jen Sapp pitched six innings to get the win and Condon pitched the seventh inning for the save.

Pisgah will now return to Columbus where they finished fourth last year. They will face either Eagles Landing Christian or Landmark Christian in their first game.
