Pisgah Places Two on All-State Squads

Patriot football has two players named First Team All-State.

Mount Pisgah football players Ryan Felice and Flint Geier were both named first team All-State for Class A this week. Felice, a senior defensive back, was named first team by the Georgia Sports Writers Association, while Geier, a senior offensive lineman, was named first team by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“These two young men are a major reason that we had such a successful season and qualified for the GHSA playoffs for the first time in school history,” said Pisgah Head Football Coach Doug Dixon. “In addition to being great on the field and as leaders, these two are outstanding students. Flint has committed to Cornell and Ryan is being recruited by several colleges with high academic standards. These are fine young men and I am proud to call them both Patriots.”

Felice finished the season with 97 tackles, including eight tackles for a loss, and four interceptions.

“I’m really proud of Ryan for this accomplishment. He has fought through injuries all year and was key to our defensive success. I’m especially excited for him since he missed most of his junior season with a broken leg. To come back the way he has and to be recognized by the sports writers in this state is quite an accomplishment,” said Dixon.

On the 6’3”, 290-pound Geier, Dixon commented, “I am very proud of Flint for this achievement. He not only anchored line for us on the field, but he led that unit off the field as well. Flint has put in the time and dedication to be great and I am glad he is getting this well-deserved recognition.”
