Northview Students 'Get There Green'

Environmental Science class worked to raise awareness about effects of air pollution.

Anyone walking around campus recently may have noticed that things look a little . . . green. From students decked out in that color or Lorax costumes to the Clean Air B-AIR wandering around and giving high-fives, it was all a part of "Get There Green" week.

Thanks to a Clean Air Campaign grant, students from Jason Weinberger's AP Environmental Science class were working to raise awareness on the negative effects of air pollution and to encourage car pooling. Other activities they organized included contests, window paintings with scenes from "Dr. Seuss' The Lorax," and "k-air-aoke."

The Clean Air Campaign received a $50,000 from the UPS Foundation to fund the program, and Northview was one of 10 schools in the metro area that participated.
