No. 2 Lady Patriots Keep Win Streak Alive

Pisgah softball wins ninth game in a row.

The varsity softball team won its ninth game in a row on Wednesday with an 11-3 win over Whitefield. The victory improved the No. 2 Lady Patriots to 12-3 overall and 4-0 in Region play.

Whitefield jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on an unearned run in the first inning. The Pisgah bats came alive in the third as they struck for five runs. Singles by Virginia Eith and Madison Wickline started the inning. A RBI single by Nicole Peters and a sacrifice fly by Madison Claytor gave Pisgah the lead. Morgan Walters followed with a RBI double and Courtney Condon's two-run home run ended the scoring in the third.

The Wolfpack responded with two runs in the top of the fourth, but Patriot runs in the bottom of the inning and again in the fifth sealed the victory. A double by Eith scored Avery White to start the fourth inning. Eith would also come around to score on a single by Peters.
