Pisgah Celebrates Homecoming with Win Over Fellowship Christian
Patriots defeat Paladins 35-14.
The celebrated their homecoming with a 35-14 Region 5-A North win over Fellowship Christian Friday.
The victory improved Mount Pisgah to 4-2 overall, 2-1 in the subregion. Fellowship Christian fell to 3-3 and 1-3.
After mounting a long drive in the first quarter, Mount Pisgah scored first on a quarterback keeper by Kyle Sloter. The first quarter closed out with the Patriots up 7-0 on the Paladins.

At the 10:40 mark of the second quarter, Sloter connected with Oz Dixon on a scoring pass to give Mount Pisgah a 14-0 advantage.
Fellowship Christian answered with a long drive on its next possession, which culminated with Stephen Lantz's 3-yard TD run, cutting the Patriots lead to 14-7 at halftime.

On Mt. Pisgah's first possession of the second half, Sloter hit running back Kyle Jackson with a short pass that turned into another Patriot touchdown for a 21-7 lead
The Paladins responded early in the fourth quarter. With 10:28 remaining in the game, Lantz scored his second touchdown to cut the lead to 21-14.
Mount Pisgah took the kickoff and began driving down the field again. Patriot wide receiver John Towne pulled in a 20-yard pass from Sloter before Jackson scored on a run on the next play to put the Patriots up 28-14 with 7:33 remaining.
Fellowship Christian's hopes of coming back were dashed when Patriot defensive back Patrick Messinger intercepted a pass and returned it to the Paladin 40-yard line. Two plays after a pass interference call gave the Patriots the ball at the Fellowship 10, Sloter hit Dixon in the end zone for the second time to complete the scoring
Time ran out before the Paladins could mount another scoring effort.
