Leadership Johns Creek Launches Safety Program

Leadership Johns Creek's "Team GLEE "  launched its Billy Badge Safety Program at State Bridge Crossing Elementary School this week.  The program was presented to more than 60 kindergartners and their teachers.

The purpose of the Billy Badge Program is to introduce elementary school children to important concepts regarding the proper use of 911, traffic safety, stranger safety and what to do if they become lost.  The primary objectives are to promote a safer Johns Creek and to build a stronger connection among Johns Creek schools, the Johns Creek Police Department and the community at large.

The program has already received praise from the JCPD, which plans to present the Billy Badge program to the students of Johns Creek elementary schools on an ongoing basis. Complementing the school program are a website (www.billybadge.org) and a coloring book — both have been developed to reinforce what the children learn in school and to help parents reinforce the concepts at home.
