Johns Creek Student Wins Essay Contest, Awarded Scholarship

The Auburn University freshman's essay documented his mother's financial struggle after his father died in an auto accident when he was just 8 weeks old.

Zack Williard, a Johns Creek resident who now attends Auburn University won an essay contest and has been awarded a $2,000 scholarship.

Willard’s essay documented his mother’s financial struggle after his father died in a car accident when he was eight weeks old. 

Williard, who is a freshman at the Alabama school, is one of four recipients to receive the award as part of September’s Life Insurance Awareness Month, when consumers are encouraged to learn about the financial protection and security life insurance provides.
