Johns Creek Gladiators defeat Milton Eagles, 14-9

Johns Creek's defense managed to control a Milton offense that couldn't score in the second half.

The Johns Creek Gladiators kept the Milton Eagles in check for the entire second half to go on to victory, 14-9 on Friday, Sept. 7.

The Eagles did score first by sacking the Gladiators' quarterback in the end zone for a safety, making it 2-0.

They immediately followed that up with a touchdown on the drive that followed. Taking advantage of great field position after Johns Creek had to kick from deep in their own territory after suffering the safety, Milton quickly made it 9-0.

The Eagles couldn't sustain their next to the last drive against the Gladiators, turning over the ball on downs. Adding insult to injury, Johns Creek's punter delivered on a fake punt by rushing for a long first down.

When the Eagles finally got the ball back, there was too little time left for a successful drive.
