Hooch Girls' Lacrosse Wins Area Championship

The varsity girls lacrosse team defeated a determined team 20 - 11 Thursday night to win the 3-AAAA-A Championship for the third straight year. The victory gave them the No. 1 seating in their bracket for the upcoming state playoffs and home field advantage.

Hooch was led by recent NCAA signee Aubrey Bausum who scored 5 goals followed by Elicia Zarzour with 4 and Katie Trainer who had 3. Nine players scored for the Cougars who took 46 total shots against the Gladiator defense. Chattahoochee demonstrated a lot of team work as 12 of their 20 goals were assisted and attacker Savannah Coneys delivered four of them herself.

The defense was stiff for the Hooch as they collected 30 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers while goal keeper Lauren Frantz had 11 critical saves against the high scoring Johns Creek team.
