Findley Oaks Honors Chipper Jones

Students and staff at Findley Oaks Elementary School honored Chipper Jones on recently as the retiring Braves player headed into his last round of regular home games. The school’s student council, which is made up of fourth and fifth graders, planned the tribute after several students commented on Chipper’s upcoming retirement.

The halls and classrooms were filled with students and staff decked out in Braves apparel and red, white and blue clothing. During a morning announcement television show, students watched a brief video celebrating Chipper’s career with the Braves. Later, the whole school took a “Seventh Inning Stretch” to sing Take Me Out to the Ball Game together in a final send-off.
