Dolvin Students Create 1,000 Origami Cranes for Japan Relief

After the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan, Hope Knight, an art teacher at Dolvin Elementary School, sponsored a project to have students fold origami cranes at home as a gesture of goodwill in an effort to collect 1,000 cranes by the end of the school year. Since the students began folding the cranes, she learned that the OshKosh B’Gosh clothing company offered to donate one article of children’s clothing to a shelter in Japan for every crane it receives. By April 20, Dolvin students had folded 1,000 origami cranes that were sent to the OshKosh B’Gosh company in Connecticut.
