Charity, Churches Partner for School Supply Drive

Act Together Ministries is getting help from Christ the Shepherd Lutheran Church to gather school supplies for foster kids and children from low-income families.

Act Together Ministries will partner with local churches to help prepare foster children and children from low-income families for the new school year on Aug. 5.

in Alpharetta and in Cumming are working with the Alpharetta-based charity in this "Tools 4 School" event.

Children will receive school supplies, haircuts and medical and dental screenings. The kids will bring their school supply lists to “shop” in the special school supply store set up with donations from the community. For this store, Act Together Ministries needs donations of school supplies including: backpacks, pencils, calculators, pens, notebooks, pencil boxes, rulers, markers, erasers, and more.

Act Together Ministries is a children’s charity in Alpharetta. Act Together serves children in distress, specifically foster children, children from low-income families and children in single parent homes. Programs and services are open to families throughout the north metro Atlanta area.

Christ the Shepherd is a Lutheran church in Alpharetta. It is a congregation of the Missouri Synod. The vision of CTS is to reach up to God, in to one another, and out to the world that God so loves.

The Vine Community Church in Cumming is a local congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America. The vision at The Vine is loving God through worship; loving each other through small groups; and loving the community through serving.
