Calling All Dads

River Trial Middle School working to get fathers involved.

When Charles Gardner took the helm as assistant principal at this year, he decided that he wanted to get more dads involved at the school.

With the help of one of those fathers, Kendall Lambright, he's started a Dads Initiative whose first project is getting the school's notoriously long carpool line moving and safe.

Gardner and Lambright feel they have been successful in improving the line, and to date have seven volunteers, but they say they need as much help as they can get. Other Dads Initiative projects in the works include cleaning up the school courtyard and moving media center bookshelves.
