Barnwell Students Explore Healthcare

Barnwell Elementary fourth- and fifth-grade T.A.G. students explored the varied aspects of healthcare with the assistance of professionals from the CDC and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite. The students currently studying an Epidemic Unit learned about methods of disease transmission, protection and prevention.

"I learned how easily disease can spread and basically anything you touch is a vector for disease,” said fifth-grade student Alaina Quinn. Students were informed about the diverse set of healthcare providers who work together to help address serious medical issues. The T.A.G. students were able to view both the mechanical, and technological aspects of healthcare.  The fourth- and fifth-graders were impressed with the numerous professions available to them in the field of healthcare.
