Autrey Mill Students Compete at Tech Fairs

Alexandra Jimenez places first in Georgia Tech competition.

Members of Sharon McGee's Computer Club from Autrey Mill Middle School recently participated in the 2012 Scratch Competition that was held by the Institute of Computing Education at Georgia Tech.

Alexandra Jimenez, an Autrey Mill seventh-grader placed first in the Middle School Individual Game Competition. 

The focus this year has been on introducing programming using Scratch. The club will also be attending the Fulton County Technology Fair Competition in January.  

Other AMMS participants were Aurian Fassih, Adar Horowitz and Krister Erickson. The Scratch Awards Ceremony was held on Nov. 18.

"This is the student's first time at programming and they are doing a tremendous job so far," McGee said.
