Thousands of Gifts Donated to Johns Creek ‘Toys for Tots’

More than 1,000 new toys for Metro Atlanta's needy children were donated over the last six weeks to the by Johns Creek residents and businesses.

As part of the city's annual contribution to the U.S. Marine Corps' "Toys for Tots" campaign, gifts were collected for children at Johns Creek City Hall, all three Johns Creek fire stations and Park Place at Newtown School, Johns Creek’s active adult center.

Once again, longtime Johns Creek resident Ron Green donated hundreds of gifts, filling two vehicles of toys when he drove the gifts Dec. 18 to Johns Creek Fire Station No. 61.

Mayor Mike Bodker, Marine Corps Sgt. Patrick Bradley and several Johns Creek firefighters helped Green unload the toys and add them to the ones already collected across the city since early November.

Toys will continue to be collected at Publix supermarkets until Dec. 22, because of the lower than normal donations this year to the annual campaign across Metro Atlanta.
