Speakers to Back Transportation Sales Tax

The men picked to lead the education push to convince voters approving the regional TSPLOST is necessary speak at a chamber breakfast on Friday.

Before Friday's Business Expo even starts, the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce has an event on the schedule sure to be of interest to all business people. A breakfast meeting with “Georgia Transportation Solutions for the 21st Century” should bring some lively discussion.

The talk by leaders of the Metro Atlanta Voter Education Network campaign is part of the North Fulton Chamber's special Expo Eggs & Enterprise Breakfast meeting at the . It deals directly with the regional one percent transportation sales tax Georgia voters are being asked to approve this summer.

Every day residents of Atlanta and Georgia sit in traffic losing valuable time at work, with their families and friends. The gas tax can't keep up with the transportation needs.

Last summer a roundtable made of a diverse group of elected officials  to be allocated to cities and counties.

Projects include an overhaul of I-285 and GA 400, widening of Holcomb Bridge Road and the first investment in a MARTA line coming up GA 400 north of the North Springs Station.

This summer voters will have the opportunity to vote to approve or reject the regional sales tax intended to fund these projects.
