Report: Officials Worried About New Library Funding

Three new North Fulton libraries are in the works, but funding may be tight.

New libraries in Alpharetta, Milton and Roswell are planned for next year, but some officials are worried about funding, according to an Atlanta-Journal Constitution article.

The new facilities, along with five others in the county, will cost $8 million to run, but with property tax revenue remaining flat, and a new law prohibiting commissioners to raise property tax rates, operating hours or other expenses may have to be cut.

Commissioner Robb Pitts told the AJC that he wants to start a discussion on library funding with his fellow commissioners soon.
