Percentage of Resident Use Up at Johns Creek Parks

Johns Creek tallies resident and non-resident use of park programs, fees collected.

The percentage of resident use of park programs is up, a report by Johns Creek's Recreation & Parks division shows.

, nearly $70,000 has been collected in fees from the Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 seasons at and parks.

While overall participation at Ocee Park fell slightly from Fall 2010 to Fall 2011, resident participation was up 7 percent, which means non-resident participation fell 7 percent. From Spring 2011 to Spring 2012, resident participation went up 12 percent.

At Newtown Park, overall participation fell by some 1,000 total in Spring and Fall, which the reports mostly attributes to programs such as flag football and girls lacrosse being moved to school facilities.

However, from Fall 2010 to Fall 2011, resident participation at Newtown was up by 23 percent. From Spring 2011 to Spring 2012, resident participation was up 14 percent.
