North Fulton Regional Radio Meetings Kick Off Next Week

Both meetings will give residents a chance to learn more about the North Fulton Regional Radio System.

The ciity of Roswell will hold two public meetings for the North Fulton Regional Radio System at 7 p.m. Thursday July 11 at theHembree Park Recreation Center and 7 p.m. Tuesday July 16 at the East Roswell Park Recreation Center.

The reliability of the Fulton County radio system in the northern part of the county "has been an ongoing issue," the city said in a press release.

To provide a more effective method of communication, the North Fulton Regional Radio System Authority went into effect on July 1. Used by emergency-response personnel such as police officers and firefighters, radio is a direct lifeline to communications centers and other public safety personnel.

A partnership among the cities of Roswell, Alpharetta, Milton and Sandy Springs, the North Fulton Unified Regional Radio System will use up-to-date technology to reduce costly maintenance issues and provide continuous coverage both inside and outside buildings throughout the northern part of the county. 

Three radio tower sites being proposed for the system within the city of Roswell which will ensure continuous coverage and reduce dead spots. The tower sites will allow the necessary radio coverage throughout the city for our public safety personnel.

The city is encouraging its residents to attend the meetings, which they will be given an overivew of the system, the proposed location of the tower sites and have an opportunity to ask questions.
