Newtown Park Playgrounds to Close for Two Weeks

The playgrounds will close starting April 3 for the installation of new equipment.

The playgrounds at Newtown Park in Johns Creek will be closed for about two weeks starting April 3 as the city installs new playground equipment and features.

According to a news release from the City of Johns Creek, the two new playgrounds will be separate but adjacent, and age-specific, with one for children up to 8 years old and the other for those 9 to 14

The younger playground will have a castle theme with classics such as swings, rockers, see-saw and a structure with interconnected platforms, ladders, steps and slide.

The playground for older kids will offer energy-burning structures, such as a climbing wall, ladders, sliding and climbing elements and linked platforms. It also will include a spider-web-like apparatus with ropes strung around a supporting pole and spinning devices.
