The on July 9 listened to a presentation by the Public Works Department on a proposed location for a pavilion at the park that could accommodate some 150 to 200 people.
Citing requests from numerous local businesses and residents for a gathering space in the park, Public Works Director Tom Black presented a concept plan for the pavilion, approved in the fiscal year 2012 budget for $160,000.
The proposed location near the dog park and lacrosse field was chosen due to a limited amount of environmental disturbance and a close proximity to the new parking expansion and existing restrooms.
"No additional funds" beyond the money already budgeted will be required, said Black.
The pavilion area will include a location for grilling as well as running water and power.
