One goose now has a second chance after a dog attack ruffled his feathers.

A citizen took the goose to Cobb County Animal Control after it was attacked by a dog in Powder Springs. Cobb County veterinarian Amy Belew performed surgery on the rare Chinese goose, who is being called Abner.

The goose should be healed soon and released back into the wild as long as its wounds remain free from infection, said Cobb AC Field Services Manager Tom Flynn.

Former Gwinnett County Commissioner Shirley Lasseter, 64, of Duluth faces a sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 after pleading guilty in U.S. District Court in Atlanta Thursday morning to accepting $36,500 in bribes to support a proposed real estate development on Boggs Road.

Lasseter’s son, John Fanning, 34, of Dacula and Carl “Skip” Cain, 65, of Flowery Branch pled guilty to participating in the bribery scheme and to drug trafficking.

Anthony Antonio Norman now sits in Cobb County jail on charges of rape of a 15-year-old girl he met on Facebook.

This is not the first time Norman has faced a sexual crime charge. He had also been arrested and charged with aggravated child molestation on June 11, 2009, according to Gwinnett County Superior Court records.

- Alpharetta-Milton Patch

A front desk clerk at in Alpharetta saw a man exit the building and enter a black Infinity parked in front of the building. After sitting in the vehicle for a few minutes, the man returned to the building, walking straight into the men's locker room.

A little while later, the man once again went out to the parking lot, getting into a Volvo this time. A few minutes later he was heading back into the locker room.

The clerk called Alpharetta police, and the suspect was arrested inside the fitness center.
