The city of Johns Creek has scheduled three public hearings as part of its process to establish its 2014 millage rate.
The hearings will be held at 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. June 16 and 7 p.m. July 14.
All residents are invited to attend the hearings, which will be held at Johns Creek City Hall Council Chambers located at 12000 Findley Road, Suite 300 in Johns Creek.
The City Council is set to adopt the final rates during its July 14 meeting, which will begin at 7 p.m. or as soon as the public hearing is complete.
Each year, the Fulton County Board of Tax Assessors is required to review the assessed value for property tax purposes of taxable property in the county.
When the trend of prices on properties that have recently sold in the county indicates there has been an increase in the fair market value of any specific property, the board is required by law to reassess the value of the property and increase the assessment — known as a reassessment.
