Johns Creek Population Grows by 14,000 Since Incorporation

Census figures show 23 percent growth since Johns Creek became a city in 2006.

When Johns Creek incorporated in 2006, its population was approximately 62,049. Census figures released yesterday show that the city's population today is 76,728, indicating a 23 percent increase.

According to the Census, Johns Creek is now Georgia's 10th largest city, following No. 8 Roswell which has a population of 88,346, but ahead of neighboring Alpharetta, whose population is 57,551 and is ranked at No. 12. Alpharetta saw a 65 percent increase, while Roswell is at 11.4 percent.

Johns Creek's white population is 48,684, with the Asian population following second at 17,925 and the black population at 7,062.

Fulton County's population as a whole increased by 12.8 percent, with a total population today of 920,581. It remains the state's most populated county.

Forsyth County saw the fastest growth at 78.4 percent. In 2000, its population was 98,407. That number grew to 175,511 by 2010.
