Johns Creek Names New Assistant Solicitor

Sharon Dickson joins city's legal team.

 

Sharon Dickson, a career prosecutor, was sworn in as the newest Assistant Solicitor for Johns Creek on Sept. 4.

“We’re very happy to welcome Sharon Dickson to our legal team. We recently lost Jane Morrison when she was elected Fulton County State Court Judge in July, and I can’t think of a better replacement than Sharon,” said City Solicitor Bill Riley.

A member of the State Bar of Georgia since 1997, Dickson comes to Johns Creek after serving as a Senior Assistant Solicitor at the DeKalb County Solicitor General’s Office for the past five and a half years. Most recently, she assisted with the pretrial diversion unit and DeKalb’s mental health court. 

Prior to that, she served as a lead prosecutor in Gwinnett County for six years where she prosecuted DUIs, misdemeanor offenses, city ordinance violations and animal cruelty cases

She began prosecuting at the City of Atlanta Municipal Court in 1998. 

As a resident of Johns Creek, Dickson is familiar with the city and active in the community through her children’s schools and sports. 

“I look forward to working for the city to continue to bring strong municipal court services to Johns Creek,” said Dickson. “It’s a pleasure and an honor to serve the community I live in.” 

A graduate of the University of Miami School of Law, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in political science from Spelman College.
