Johns Creek Maintains Property Tax Rate
4.614 millage unchanged since 2006 incorporation.
Despite falling property tax revenues, the Johns Creek City Council on Monday approved a 4.614 millage rate, unchanged since it incorporated in 2006.
The city expects its property tax revenues to decline for 2013 by almost $241,000, according to a press release, mostly because of falling property valuations. Preliminary estimates show property taxes generating about $16.5 million. Property tax revenue makes up about 37 percent of the city's $45 million budget.
Johns Creek taxes usually account for about 13 percent of the overall tax bill issued by Fulton County.
