Hazardous Waste Disposal Day on Saturday

City of Johns Creek and Keep North Fulton Beautiful are presenting an environmentally friendly way to dispose of toxic household items.

Johns Creek residents can finally get rid of old bottles of pesticide and other toxic products around the home in a way that's guilt-free and free of charge.

On Saturday, Sept. 24, the and Keep North Fulton Beautiful are sponsoring a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Medlock Bridge Shopping Center, 6000 Medlock Bridge Parkway.

"A lot of people hang on to toxic liquids and material because they don't want to throw them away and have them end up in a landfill," said James Swope, Johns Creek Solid Waste manager. "This gives them an opportunity to dispose of toxic waste, such as cleaning supplies, paint products or items containing mercury, in an environmentally sound manner."
