Fulton Hosting Disabilities Awareness Expo

More than 20 vendors will provide a range of information and services for people with disabilities.

Fulton County residents are invited to join in a celebration of Disability Awareness Month during a Disability Awareness Vendor Fair and Expo on Thursday, July 26. 

The event, hosted by the Fulton County Office of Equal Employment and Disability Affairs, marks the 22nd Anniversary of the landmark Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, a civil-rights law providing a range of rights and protections for persons with disabilities.

At its July 11, 2012, meeting, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners’ recognized Disability Awareness Month and the many contributions of residents with disabilities.

“Creating a community that is inclusive of residents with disabilities helps make Fulton County a more vibrant and welcoming place to live, work and play,” said Dr. Ann F. Harris, Acting Director of the Fulton County Office of Equal Employment and Disability Affairs. “The Americans with Disabilities Act was groundbreaking legislation and we continue to celebrate its legacy today.”

The Fulton County Disability Awareness Vendor Fair and Expo will include more than 20 vendors providing a range of information about disability services, including sign language interpretation, radio reading services and other services for adults and children with a range of disabilities.
