Fulton County Awards $2.4 Million Animal Services Contract
Lifeline Animal Project of Avondale Estates won the contact, and will replace the current vendor, Barking Hound Foundation.
Fulton County has reported Lifeline Animal Project was awarded a $2.4 million contract for animal services to Fulton County residents.
The Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved to award Lifeline Animal Project the contract to provide animal services to Fulton County’s residents. Lifeline will take over providing services upon the termination of the contract with the current vendor, The Barking Hound Foundation. The Foundation currently has a month-to-month contract to provide the services.
The contract includes services such as; daily management of the animal shelter, adoptions, licenses as well as spay and neutering services.
Buckhead Patch reports that LifeLine Animal Project, based in Avondale Estates, is a nonprofit, no-kill organization that aids dogs and cats through its Community LifeLine program, an active outreach initiative providing services such as low-cost spaying and neutering to pet owners who might not otherwise be able to afford them.

Details of the contract are being worked out. "We are still negotiating the start date," LifeLine's Public Relations Director Karen Hirsch told Patch.
