Fulton Conducting Recount in Sheriff's Race

Following primary, incumbent Ted Jackson was in the lead with 49.11 percent of the vote.

The Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections is conducting a recount in the Fulton County Sheriff Democratic Primary. The recount began Wednesday morning at the Fulton County Election Preparation Center (1365 English Street, Atlanta, GA 30318) and is expected to take two days.

In the July 31 election, , while top challenger Richard Lankford, from College Park, took 33.6 percent. Pending the outcome of the recount, a run-off will take place on Aug. 21. No Republicans are running, so the office holder will be determined after either the recount or the runoff.
