Discard Hazardous Waste on Sept. 15

City event will allow residents to discard household products guilt-free.

Johns Creek's Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Sept. 15 will allow residents to get rid of items such as paint, herbicide and electronics for free.

The event takes place at the parking lot on State Bridge Road from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

"Many products we use around the house every day – cleaning supplies, paint, or pesticides – have the potential to contaminate the groundwater or cause environmental harm if they go a landfill," said James Swope, Johns Creek Solid Waste manager, on the city's website.
