Company Wants To Build 231 Homes In Johns Creek

The Johns Creek City Council tonight will consider a request to rezone property to make way for three subdivisions that will contain a total of 231 homes.

The council will consider the request during its meeting tonight, which starts at 7 p.m. at Johns Creek City Hall. Before the meeting, the council will hold a work session at 5 p.m. to discuss Johns Creek Advantage Update and hear an update on proposed amendments to the sign ordinance. 

Rogers Family Partnership is requesting the city rezone 104.38 acres from AG-1 (agricultural district) to CUP (community unit plan district), which would allow the company to build three residential developments with an overall density of 2.21 units per acre. The subdivisions would contain 231 homes. 

The sites are located on the east and west sides of Rogers Bridge Road, north of its intersection with Bell Road. The sites are mostly wooded with a mix of pine and hardwoods. There is a cemetery located near the southern most portion of one parcel, and the remainder of the tracts are undeveloped. 

The request had been tabled by the council during its March 24 meeting.  

Council members will also hear another rezoning request from 1699 Land Company, LLC. That developer wants the city to rezone 3.72 acres of land in the 4900 Block of Kimball Bridge Road from AG-1 (agricultural) to R-5A (single family residential) to build a detached 15-home subdivision.
