Climb Into a Big Truck at Public Works Day

Kids can get an up-close look at big trucks, earn merit badges at city event.

Put yourself in the seat of a backhoe or a 100-foot ladder fire truck, or get an up-close look at bulldozers, dump trucks and other cool equipment at the City's fifth annual "Public Works Day," Saturday, May 12.

Presented by the City's Public Works staff, in conjunction with "National Public Works Week," the event offers all ages the opportunity to learn about the equipment used for public improvement projects from the professionals who actually operate the equipment and plan the projects.

The theme of this year's event is "Creating a Lasting Impression," and staff will be on hand to answer questions and demonstrate the many services provided by Public Works and the Johns Creek Fire Department. The event also features games and prizes. Free food is available while supplies last.
