Following is a roundup of upcoming meetings, classes and projects for the City of Johns Creek.
The City of Johns Creek is conducting a series of public hearings in August and September on the City's proposed $46.5 million budget for fiscal year 2014.
The public hearings will be held during regular City Council meetings at 7 p.m. on Aug. 26 and Sept. 9. The Council is tentatively scheduled to approve the budget Sept. 9 following the hearing.
All hearings are held in City Council chambers on the 3rd floor of City Hall at 12000 Findley Rd. The City Council on July 22 approved a property tax rate of 4.614 mills, the same rate established when the City was founded in 2006. The fiscal year runs Oct. 1 to Sept. 30.
New Clubhouse Fitness classes offered this fall by the Johns Creek Recreation and Parks Division.
Registration for the fitness programs closes Aug. 30. The eight-week classes, taught at Newtown Park Community Clubhouse, start the week of Sept. 9. The program costs $50 for residents and $75 for non-residents. Each class has a six-student minimum. Classes are open for adults 16 years old or older.

Johns Creek Public Works crews have added almost two miles of sidewalks and trails citywide as of August 2013 with another half-mile expected to be completed by year end.
Among the larger projects are a just completed sidewalk on Douglas Road that connects with a similar project in Alpharetta to give residents of both cities new venues for walking and running. A new multi-purpose trail on Findley Road ties Sargent Road in with the Johns Creek Greenway on Medlock Bridge Road.Source: City of Johns Creek
