City Council Selects New Mayor Pro-Tem

Johns Creek's former Mayor Pro-Tem, resigned from her Post 6 seat to run for mayor.

At its Monday night meeting, the Johns Creek City Council chose a new Mayor Pro-Tem to replace Bev Miller who recently resigned to run for the mayor's seat.

Council member Karen Richardson (Post 3) was selected by the City Council through a nomination process. Randall Johnson (Post 1) was the first to nominate Richardson, there were no other nominations.

"It's an honor to have been selected," said Richardson.

She was approved by council with Council member Ivan Figurea making the first motion and Johnson seconded the motion. Her nomination passed 3-2 with Mayor Bodker and Council member Stewart voting against.

Miller, who held the Post 6 seat, resigned in August to challenge incumbent Mike Bodker who has been Johns Creek's mayor since the city formed in 2006.
