'Twitter Threat' at Northview Results in Heightened Police Presence

Investigators working to identify who posted the threat.

A threat to Northview High via Twitter has resulted in higher police presence at the Johns Creek school.

"Yesterday (Monday) morning a parent reported to the school that they learned of a threat posted on Twitter," said Fulton Schools spokesperson Susan Hale. "The post was immediately reported to our district’s Police Department and they’ve been working with the Johns Creek Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to identify the person who posted it. Today, as a precaution, we will have an additional police presence at the school."

Doug Nurse, communications manager for the city of Johns Creek, said the JCPD is increasing its presence at the school at the school's request, though he said he couldn't give details on operational aspects due to security reasons.
