Tree Removal Blocks Portion of Sargent Road

Traffic is restricted on Sargent Road between Findley Road and Carriage Park Way as the city removes a tree that was struck by lightning.

The city of Johns Creek is restricting access to a portion of Sargent Road as crews remove a large oak tree on the south side of the thoroughfare.

Traffic will be restricted between Findley Road and Carriage Parkway Way. The eastbound lane of Sargent Road is now open, but drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes until the road fully re-opens.

City spokesperson Doug Nurse said the re-opening could happen around 2 p.m.Β

The tree, which is on private property, had been struck by lightning and is potentially dangerous.
