Teens Arrested After Drug Complaint at Apartment Complex

The following information was supplied by the Johns Creek Police Department.

On Aug. 2 Johns Creek Police officers were dispatched to the rear pool of on Abbotts Bridge Road after someone complained that several juveniles were smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol nearby.

The caller stated that this is a constant problem at the apartment complex. When officers approached the area, the four males began to run once they saw the police. One of the teens was intercepted by an officer, and a marijuana grinder top was found in his pocket. Another male was also detained after an officer ordered him to the ground.

An officer saw a third teen hang a black backpack on a tree and then flee. The bag contained a marijuana grinder and bong as well as a book documenting the sale of marijuana to buyers. An officer found that teen balled up behind bushes. He stated that he had come to the apartments to meet three males. The suspect, an 18-year-old from Lawrenceville, was arrested and charged with felony possession and intent to sell marijuana and a misdemeanor obstruction charge.

A 16-year-old was charged with underage possession of alcohol and was transported to his mother and released. A 17-year-old from Johns Creek was charged with two counts of disorderly conduct.
