UPDATE: Usher's Stepson Reportedly Dies From Lake Lanier Accident Injuries

Kile Glover, son of Usher's ex-wife, reportedly was removed from life support.

Kile Glover, the son of entertainment superstar Usher's ex-wife, reportedly has died after being removed from life support.

According to the Huffington Post, the entertainment website TMZ reported that Glover's mother, Tameka Foster, allegedly made the tough decision after being told that a full recovery was not likely. She is also said to have been unable to pay the medical bills required to keep her son on life support, after the family's insurance company coverage expired.

Glover, 11, was critically injured earlier in July after being hit by a jet ski driven by a family friend. A 15-year-old girl with Glover also was injured. Both were life flighted to Children's Hospital in Atlanta.

A family friend, Jeffrey S. Hubbard, reportedly was driving the jet ski that hit the youths, who were in inner tubes being pulled by a pontoon boat. No charges have been filed, and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this accident.

Glover's death would mean that three area youths have died as a result of recent accidents on Lake Lanier. In June, brothers Griffin and Jake Prince of Buford were killed when another boater slammed into a pontoon boat driven by the Princes' father. .

Updated, Monday, July 16, 3 p.m.:

Kile Glover, Usher's ex-wife's son who was critically injured at Lake Lanier earlier in July, may have to be taken off life support, according to media reports.

The entertainment website TMZ has reported that Tameka Raymond will be forced to take her son off life support as early as next month because his insurance coverage is about to expire.

Citing sources, TMZ reported that Raymond can only keep her son, 11, on life-support as long as her insurance company agrees to pay, otherwise she doesn't have the funds to cover the enormous hospital bills.

He has been on life support since a July 6 accident that also injured a female friend, 15. A family friend reportedly ran into the two youths wth a jet ski at Lake Lanier, while the youths were in an inner tube being pulled by a pontoon boat.

Glover reportedly sustained severe head injuries. Jeffrey S. Hubbard, has been identified as the driver. No charges have been filed in the case, and alcohol is not believed to be a factor.

Updated, Thursday, July 12, 7:45 a.m.:

The family of Kile Glover, the youth who was injured in a collision Friday on Lake Lanier, has asked for prayers for the child, according to CNN.com.

"We know God's in control, and are leaning on our faith in Him and His word at this most difficult time," Glover's family said in a statement to CNN on Tuesday.

The youth's mother is Tameka Foster Raymond, the ex-wife of entertainment superstar Usher. His father is Ryan Glover, a former executive with Turner Broadcasting and now an executive with Bounce TV, a network that caters to African-Americans. 

The Glover family has held vigil at the hospital since Friday. Usher visited Kile early Saturday, but has not returned, according to the CNN reports.

A 15 year old girl also was injured in the accident. Her condition has not been made public.

Jeffrey S. Hubbard, said to be a family friend, has been identified as the man who was driving a personal watercraft that ran into Glover and the girl Friday afternoon. The youths were in an inner tube being pulled by a pontoon boat. No charges have been filed in the case, and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

Usher, a Johns Creek resident, is reported to be very upset about the tragedy.

"Usher practically raised Kyle as his own. He's known him for seven years. It is so sad what happened," read a report in US magazine.

Updated, Tuesday, July 10, 10:30 a.m.:

A "friend of the family" was piloting the personal watercraft that injured the stepson of superstar entertainer Usher last week on Lake Lanier, according to a media report.

MTV.com has reported that Jeffrey S. Hubbard was the operator of the personal watercraft that ran into Kyle Glover (aka Kile Glover), 11, and a 15 year old girl last week on the lake. Glover and the girl were life-flighted to Children's Hospital at Egleston in Atlanta after the accident.

According to the Department of Natural Resources incident report cited by MTV.com, Hubbard was operating the watercraft on Lake Lanier when he ran over two juveniles being towed on an inner tube by another boat at approximately 3:25 p.m. on Friday.

Glover reportedly has been declared brain dead by doctors, and the girl reportedly sustained a broken arm and a cut on the head.

Usher and Tameka Foster, Glover's mother, divorced in 2009. However, the entertainer, who lives in Johns Creek, chartered a plane for her to be with her son after the incident. Usher and Foster both reportedly were at the hospital Saturday.

DNR officials have said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the incident.

Updated, Sunday, July 8, 8:45 p.m.:

The stepson of superstar entertainer Usher is reported brain dead after a recent collision on Lake Lanier, according to a media report.

The entertainment website TMZ.com reported that Kyle Glover, 11, has been declared brain dead by doctors, but no decision has been made whether to take him off life support.

Usher, a Johns Creek resident, reportedly visited his stepson in the hospital in Atlanta on Saturday. Tameka Foster, Glover's mother and Usher's estranged wife, has not left the hospital since she got there. The entertainer chartered a plane for her to be with Glover after the accident.

Sunday, July 8, 11 a.m.:

The stepson of superstar entertainer and Johns Creek resident Usher is in critical condition  on Friday afternoon, according to media reports.

Kyle Glover, 11, and a 15-year-old girl were being pulled in inner tubes by a boat when they were hit by a man piloting a jet ski. The children were life-flighted to Children's Healthcare at Egleston Hospital, according to 11alive.com. The entertainment website TMZ.com cited a source as saying Glover remains unresponsive and is in critical condition.

The accident happened on the south end of the lake near Van Pugh Park, according to reports.

A Department of Natural Resources spokesperson said it is too early to tell if any charges will be filed, and that alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

Glover is the son of Usher's estranged wife Tameka Foster. The entertainer reportedly chartered a plane for Foster to be by her son's side.

AJC.com reported that the DNR said the man on the personal watercraft and the children tubing were part of the same group on an outing at the lake.

This incident comes just three days after the funeral for the Prince brothers of Buford, who were killed in a Lake Lanier boating collision in June. Also in June, in a Lanier accident involving a boat propeller.

Several of Usher's associates in the entertainment world have taken to social media for support.

Music mogul Russell Simmons said on Twitter, "Praying that Usher and Tameka's son is OK..."

This comes on the heels of an alleged stalker's arrest and hospitalization after showing up at Usher's Johns Creek home. Darshelle Jones-Rakestraw, 26, had previously received a warning to stay away from the star's home.
