Residents Can Use City's 911 Service for Non-Emergency Calls

Along with reporting an emergency, you can call 9-1-1 to talk with an officer about any criminal matter.

By Mark Johnson, Community Services, Johns Creek Police

Johns Creek's 9-1-1 service is more flexible than similar services in other cities. The city's 9-1-1 service, called Chatcomm, also functions as a non-emergency number so in addition to reporting suspicious people or activities, you can call 9-1-1 to talk with an officer about any criminal matter.

The City of Johns Creek does NOT have a separate non-emergency number, so you can call 9-1-1 if you need to meet with an officer for whatever reason.

However, if you need to speak with a specific officer or have a question about a previous report, please call the Johns Creek Police Department at 678-474-1600, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

You don't have to wait until an actual crime is committed to call Johns Creek's 9-1-1 service/ Johns Creek police officers have caught many criminals during or just before they committed a crime because observant citizens called 9-1-1.

When reporting suspicious people or activities, explain to the 9-1-1 operator what you think is suspicious and why. When you call 9-1-1 to report suspicious activity, try to provide a good description of the suspicious person, including race, age, weight, height, and clothing description.

If a vehicle is involved, take note of vehicle make, model, color, year of manufacture, tag, and whether there is anything unusual or distinct about the vehicle, such as stickers, damage, or modifications to the vehicle.Stay safe,Officer
