Police ID Body of Man Found Monday in Chattahoochee River
The body of a man missing since Sept. 22, was discovered near McGinnis Ferry Road in Johns Creek.
The body of the man discovered by kayakers on Monday has been identified.
Johns Creek police have confirmed the man as Omar Hugh Richards, 29, of Sugar Hill. His body was discovered about a mile south of the McGinnis Ferry Road bridge.
Richards has been missing since Sept. 22.
The two kayakers had notified the Department of Natural Resources when they discovered the body, the DNR then contacted the Johns Creek Fire Department and the JCFD Swift Water Rescue Team recovered the body
Police said the body had been snagged on a fallen tree, according to the police report. The body has been turned over to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.
