No One Injured When AT&T Truck Crashes Into Pool

Driver was in possible diabetic coma, transported to hospital.

No one was injured when an AT&T truck crashed into the pool at Bridgestone Farms subdivision off State Bridge Road in Johns Creek on Monday afternoon.

Thirteen-year-old Brandon Smith was one of the 12 people in the pool when the truck crashed in, the driver in a possible diabetic coma.

"I just saw a truck come racing down the hill," Brandon said. "He hit the fence and made it look like paper. It went straight over one kid's head. My little sister got sucked down into the water for a minute. None of us should be alive."

Brandon's father, Kurt, was also at the pool. "I was getting ready to jump in. It missed my son by maybe three feet," he said.  "I have lived 48 years and believed in miracles all my life. Today I saw one."

Tracy Bunnell, a resident of the subdivision, was sitting in his truck just by the pool when the incident occurred.

"He came down the hill toward me at an accelerated speed," Bunnell said. "He veered off and hit the ramp and became airborne. He kept accelerating and went through the gate and landed in the pool. I called 911."

Bunnell said when an ambulance arrived, paramedics got the driver out of the truck. The driver was alive and transported to the hospital, according to Johns Creek Police.
