Man Shot Outside Johns Creek Business

Victim survived; taken to Grady.

A man was shot outside , 9930 Jones Bridge Road, just north of Old Alabama on Friday night.

According to Rosemary Taylor, communications manager for the Johns Creek Police Department, 911 received a call for shots fired around 8 p.m. The victim, who was not at the scene when police arrived, was shot twice in the chest and leg. He apparently was driven to a fire station in Roswell before being transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

Roswell Police called the JCPD to let them know the victim had been driven to Roswell. Detectives are investigating the incident.

You are right, Moshe. In some areas of Atlanta this would hardly be news!

My family and I were coming home from dinner when we saw this guy in the middle of the road covered in blood on Holcomb Bridge next to the fire station. He was walking around screaming. It was a pretty bad scene. I can't believe they drove all the way from Johns Creek.

Any info on the shooter? Why he got shot?

Keith, I'm looking into it and will let you know if I get an update from the police department.

I'm extremely interested also in details. I happend to be at dinner with my family at Aqua Blue, at the exact moment the car pulled up. I looked up to see police lights everywhere and it only took about 5 minutes to learn someone had been shot. I even saw the bullet holes in the car. It was worse to learn it was 500 feet from my house and they drove 6 miles to where I happended to bee eating dinner. I just feel oddly connected and would love some more information to help put my family at ease. (It also is amazing that this story hasn't made any other news report or outlet considering the area).

Today around 12:30pm, cops were out with guns less than a half mile away from the Car Wash on Jones Bridge, surrounding a Ranch Home. They were across from Brookside Academy and it looked like it may have been some sort of stand off...any details on this one? It's right by the intersection of Waters Road and Jones Bridge

I looked into it a similar report and was told there was a traffic accident and an arrest. Does this sound like what you saw?

There were literally a dozen or more cop cars-- including detective and sheriff vehicles from both fulton and forsyth... I don't know why a traffic accident would need that sort of response, especially since they were walking around with guns drawn.

The arrested 4 teenagers, 1 of whom fit the description of the shooter. That may have been why there were so many cars. The kids just lived in the neighborhood and had nothing to do with the shooting. They were released. Must have been a frightening night; imagine hanging out with your friends on a Friday night and getting arrested for a crime you didn't commit. Of course it's a whole lot worse getting shot so a bad night was had by many.

Here are the details I was able to get from police regarding yesterday's incident: http://patch.com/A-sG6P Not very detailed, but maybe I'll get more once I can get the official police reports.
