Body of Johns Creek Teen Found New Year's Day ID'd

Cody Bohnet, 18, was found deceased on New Year's Day in a creek near Taylor Middle School.

The Johns Creek teenager whose body was found New Year's Day behind Taylor Middle School has been identified.

The body of Cody Bohnet, 18, a former Chattahoochee High School student, was found Wednesday afternoon by a couple walking their dog near a creek about a quarter mile from the school. He was discovered face down in the creek, trapped under a log.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, Jan. 5, at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Johns Creek United Methodist Church.

The Fulton County medical examiner confirmed that an autopsy had been preformed. The medical examiner said the cause of death will be determined after the results of a toxicology and histology test are complete.

The Johns Creek Police are continuing their investigation into Bohnet's death. "We have no idea at this point how he ended up in the water," said JCPD spokesperson Doug Nurse. "We're still conducting the investigation."
