Johns Creek police were among 250 plungers that gathered at Lake Lanier Islands Beach recently to brave the chilly waters. The plungers included other area police departments, businesses and individuals supporting a great cause. More than $35,000 was raised to help the Special Olympics of Georgia provide an array of sporting and training events throughout the year.
The Johns Creek Police Department brought a group of nine plungers. The event had a variety of activities for everyone participating. The Georgia Aquarium brought out different species of animals and the was even a "Dunk A Cop" booth.
