Johns Creek Police Present Annual Honors

Officer, squad, employee of the year, & chief's awards

Recognizing outstanding contributions by members of the Johns Creek Police Department in 2011, Police Chief Ed Densmore announced this year's award winners at the JCPD's Annual Awards Dinner. 

"We appreciate each of these individuals and their exceptional law enforcement service to the department and the Johns Creek community," said Densmore. "They consistently go beyond their assigned duties to help us set the standard other police departments strive to follow."

  • Chief's Award - Officer M.E. Meberg, for his crucial participation in the JCPD’s Community Oriented Policing Services, in particular PACT (Police and Community Together) neighborhood watch, radKIDS™, and Bike Patrol.
  • Leadership Award – Sgt. Ronnie Young, for his outstanding leadership in supervising the Traffic Safety Unit, and consistent volunteer participation in the Court/Police STOP program for young teen drivers. 
  • Officer of the Year – Officer Duane Ferree, for his exceptional service in Uniform Patrol to protect the City and enforce its laws.
  • Squad of the Year – Community Oriented Policing Services (Sgt. Debra Kalish, Officer M.E. Meberg, Officer Mark Johnson) for their exemplary professionalism and efforts to create and maintain positive relationships between the JCPD and the Johns Creek community.
  • Employee of the Year – Selena Crum, for her loyal and superior service as Records Clerk, maintaining the agency’s flow of information, both internally and externally.
