The Johns Creek Police Department will give residents a chance to dispose of old or unused prescription medications later this month.

The agency will hold its own Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 26 as part of the Drug Enforcement Administration's 'National Take Back' initiative.

Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., anyone with expired, unwanted, or excess prescription medications and other drugs can turn them in anonymously to Johns Creek officers at Target at 5950 State Bridge Road.

The event is designed to reduce prescription drug abuse, reduce the risk of prescription drugs entering local water supply and to help residents comply with the law regarding disposal of prescription drugs.

For more information, contact the agency at 678-474-1607.
