Blotter: Target Shoplifter Resists Arrest

The following information was supplied by the Johns Creek Police Department.

On June 23 Johns Creek Police officers responded to on State Bridge Road in reference to a shoplifting call. The suspect was a white male, wearing a white shirt and jeans.

The officer who arrived on the scene first located the suspect. The store's loss prevention officer told police that he had seen the suspect place a jug of whey protein powder in his backpack and walk out of the store without paying for it.

When the officer approached the suspect, he was given permission to search the backpack. The officer removed the protein powder and asked the suspect about it. The suspect said he did not pay for it.

The officer told the suspect he was under arrest and told him to place his hands behind his back. The suspect ran away. Another officer tackled him to the ground, and he was placed in handcuffs.

While the suspect was in custody, officers discovered that he had given them a false name.

The suspect was arrested for shoplifting, false representation and disorderly conduct.
