Autopsy: Man Found in Creek Near School Drowned

The body of Cody Bohnet was found on New Year's Day in a creek near Taylor Road Middle School in Johns Creek.

An autopsy has determined the cause of death of a man whose body was found on New Year's Day in a creek near a Johns Creek middle school. 

The Johns Creek Police Department on Friday released the results of its investigation into the death of 18-year-old Cody J. Bohnet, who was found face down in a creek near Taylor Road Middle School. 

Bohnet died of accidental drowning, said Johns Creek spokesman Doug Nurse. A couple walking their dog on a trail near the creek discovered Bohnet's body

The 18-year-old had a wallet and backpack on his person when he was found by authorities.

Nurse also notes an autopsy conducted by the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office determined no signs of trauma to Bohnet's body, and an inspection of the scene "revealed nothing unusual."

"Toxicology analysis by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation found traces of THC, the high-inducing chemical in marijuana, but no other chemicals," Nurse added.
